Overview Being transported to an anime world will be awesome right you can be the hero, get all the girls and have super powers right? well for Natsuki Subaru this is not the case one day after buying grocery’s Subaru is about to leave the store he is instantly transported to another wold. A world of fantasy, having watched many anime and understanding the tropes he tries to test his hero protagonist decides to fight against bandits. Only to swiftly have his arse handed to him and is promptly saved by a maiden in white. From here the adventures of Natsuki Subaru begins. Story/plot The anime covers the first three arcs of the light novel. Much of the plot revolves around natsuki Subaru with occasional flashes to other characters. What makes this very interesting is the way the anime deals with its key mechanic Subaru’s ability to return by death, like a check point system in a game when Subaru is killed he returns to a set point in time. So naturally once he has this figured out he will abuse this right. well no what makes this anime so special is the way the main character reacts to his own death. Despite the fact that he knowns he will return he still fears death he fears the pain. This fear prevents him from abusing the power. And dying is not just something he brushes off it is real all too real every death seriously effecting his mentality. Be it the pure pain of death or the memories that are lost by others. Characters Subaru = Again as stated above. Subaru is a very human character rather than being a valorous and heroic person he has many flaws that make him feel like a real person. He is brash, a bit vein, over confident and prideful. This can be unbearable to watch at times. But makes it all the more satisfying when he grows as a character slowly growing into his new situation. It is why he is such a good character he has flaws and strengths but he lives learns and grows just like a real person. Making the death and pain he experiences very real allowing us to form a strong connection with him as a character. Emilia = At first glance Emilia comes off as very much. The basic wife like character often with skin deep development just there to solely exist as the love interest of the main character. However, this is quickly proven to be untrue she can easily be seen to be a very intelligent character, how is always working towards her own goals. While for the most part she doesn’t get to much development the scenes she dose are generally very interesting to watch particularly during the third arc. However, for fear of spoilers ill leave it there. Puck = he is a spirit at first looking cute and cuddly. He is in fact an ancient spirit with unparalleled power over ice. He is the guardian and protector of Emilia and all who choose to harm her will suffer a terrible fate. Animation The anime is animated by studio white fox known for their gorgeous animation in series like Steins; Gate and Katanagatari. Two shows known for their beautiful animation both during action scenes and for one on one character moments. This is also displayed in Re:Zero from the intense and fluid action scenes. To the more personal one on one character interactions, personally some of my more favourite moments. White Fox has done a masterful job of making a living breathing world, fitting the tone of the story well. Whether it be action politics or just a sweet moment of rest. The animation draws you into their world with beautiful imagery and animation. As for the character designs they look stunning really fitting into the fantasy/ edge of an industrial revolution style. Special notes should be made for all of the openings and endings which fits to the opening and ending themes fantastically. Sound Design Most of the re zero soundtrack consist of orchestral pieces. Fitting the general tone of the show with a mix of light and airy pieces to deep and dark pieces generally whenever Subaru is about to die. Personally some of the best tracks being: death ballet, longing for Sunbeams, Subaru concerto, Takt of Heroes and touching you. Is brash vein but Meanwhile the opening and endings while more of a Techno/Synthesised beat the openings hyping you up for the episode ahead whilst the endings bring a more of a sad sombre tone often in fitting with the general tone of the episode overall. However, the endings have been replaced a few times of certain turning point episodes. Unfortunately, as good as the openings are they not played very often which to be air gives more screen time and makes the episodes feel like thy flow from one to another. Conclusion The brilliance of the series comes from the characters particularly our lead character Subaru. He has many negative features but also his good. The way his character is developed makes him very real and human in a way that the audience can instantly emphasise with. Amazing character like this combined with a stellar story is what makes this anime so good. Every scene is meticulously planned a seemingly useless scene becoming one of importance latter down the line. This brilliant combination of both well-developed fleshed out characters and a griping ad enthralling story is what makes this anime so great. Pros and cons Pros
Cons
Taking this all into account Re:Zero was practically flawless as such it is with great joy I award re zero with a score of 10/10 Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (2016)

Overview Set three years after the second season of Digimon. Our main cast has no all but moved on with their life and the world has forgotten all about Digimon. Our main cast are now all high schoolers with Kari and TK being middle schoolers. When suddenly a disturbance occurs and after three years of inaction Digimon reappear. Fortunately, not all the Digimon that appear are enemies some are old friends. (An Extended version of the opening can be found below to give ya a feel) Story Obviously the story picks up three years’ latter. All of the Digi-destined have grown up quite significantly they are now high schoolers looking towards the future. Tai and matt are still following their passions of sport and music respectively. Sora is desperately trying to make a choice between the two. Izzy has become a successful programmer, Mimi is in America and joe is studying toward medicine and Kari and TK are high school. They have moved on when suddenly Digimon return to their world and they are very aggressive. fortunately, their partners have also returned and this time they are not alone. A mysterious government agency is tracking the Digimon in an attempt to prevent the rouge Digimon from causing too much widespread damage. Together with the help of the government organisation they plan to find out why the Didgimon have reappeared after so long. Characters (feel free to skip this if you have recently watched adventure 1 or 2) Tai= our main character a representative of the crest of courage and his partner Agumon. Over the three years since adventure two. Tai has become a much calmer slightly more well-rounded individual. Instead of the hothead leaping headfirst into action as he once did he now would much rather take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Unfortunately, this can cause problems for him as he is starting to see how much damage the Digimon can cause when fighting. But when the chips are down and he need to stand up he gathers his courage. Matt= He still maintains a cool and clam persona but when it comes to Digimon he very much takes on Tai’s previous role as a hot head, which actually works well with him being the representative of the crest of friendship. Often jumping into the action first regardless of the backlash. His partner is Gabumon. In a way matt acts rather as he did in the original he acts like a foil to Tai. While the two often get on like fire and ice they still maintain a strong friendship and balance each other out. Sora= she has a bubbly and generally upbeat personality while when it comes to tai and matt she is very much the girl stuck between two friends she cares about. As the reprsentive of love she acts very motherly as far as the group dynamic is concerned often being a somewhat voice of logical reason within this diverse cast. Her partner is Biyomon Mimi= Mimi is a bubbly personality combined with somewhat of an airhead. She is outgoing and a real party girl often acting on instinct rather than thought. However, despite this outgoing and bubbly nature she is a very friendly and loyal girl who is often acts with pure sincerity though all her actions. Matching her crest of sincerity. Her partner is Palmon Izzy= ever the genius of the group as time has gone on he has only grown in intelligence and maturity. He is still madly in love with Mimi though. He provides a lot of knowledge on all the goings. Unfortunately for him while he has grown in intelligence he has also grown even more socially awkward. He is the representative crest of intelligence. His partner is Tentamon Joe = joe is a responsible young man which makes the crest of responsibility suit him well. He is a studious hard worker but his focus on getting into a good medical school and becoming an adult prevents him from joining the rest of the Digi-destined as he keeps trying to separate himself from them. His partner is Gomamon TK and Kari = the two are best friends being more actively involved with Digimon then the rest as they ae also part of the second group of Digi-destined. TK represents the crest of hope and is generally a very upbeat and positive person always ready to jump into a new adventure. His partner is Patomon. Kari is also has a very upbeat and playful personality but is also more mature and grounded compared to TK she represents the crest of light and her partner is Gatomon Animation The animation is done by Toei animation famous for such works dragon ball z battle of gods, one piece and fist of the north star. Much like dragon ball Z battle of gods the animation for tri is crisp and sharp every scene particularly the battles between digimon look great. Everything looks fluid and moves very dynamically it is lovely to look at everything from the character designs to the backgrounds. And despite the radical difference from the original designs and animation every character of the main cast is still distinct and recognisable. I feel the finest example of the animation are the Digievolutions which while all similar all look really cool and do an amazing job of rekindling that childhood nostalgia. Sound design The soundtrack for this is actually primarily unfamiliar to me as I grew up with the four kids dub. But regardless it had the traditional Digimon feel every track suiting its scene, as for tracks that stood out the opening butterfly which is excellent and really captures the tone of the show overall. As well as the track brave heart that plays during the big combat scenes. Conclusion As far as bringing us back into the series after 15 years. It really captures the spirit of the original digimon yet the story feels both nostalgic and new at the same time. As a basis for the rest of the plot to build off it is a really solid. It does a brilliant job off showing the character’s growth as the travel through high school and all the problems that come with this puberty hormone filled time brings. Pros and cons

Image taken from:https://images6.alphacoders.com/512/512323.jpg Overview No game no life follows the story of two gamer NEET’s (shut ins). A bother (Sora) and sister(Shiro) together they make the ultimate gaming team. With Shiro pure analytical skill and Sora’s ability to think outside the box in bizarre yet genius ways none can stop them this combination of the two has become infamously known as blank. This works to their advantage, when the two are drawn into a world where any and all conflict any decisions are ruled by games. Well the world is their oyster quite literally and they plan to take advantage of it. (Minor spoilers if you haven’t watched the show/ read the books or manga do so now and come back) Characters (our main four) Sora = Sora is an interesting character purely in his mannerisms. Despite what may seem like a perverted outer shell. He is actually a very kind and caring brother, despite the fact that he gets serval opptuneity to perform less than innocent acts he often restrains himself for the sake of his sister. However, this is not what make Sora a very interesting character. He often sates that off the two members of blank he is less intelligent than Shiro’s hyper intelligence and ability to perform complex math effortlessly. However, what he lacks for in natural intelligence he more than makes up for with obscurity and out of the box thinking. As well as this he is a sly puppet master often manipulating his opponents to his own benefits and by the time they notice it is all but too late. As such when Shiro loses her call Sora is always there to pick up the slack. Thanks to his calm calculating manner and the amount of thought he is generally the lead of the two. Shiro = she is pure and simply super intelligent she is like a human calculator, calculating anything from advanced maths to complex physics in seconds. This makes her a strong driving force in many games. Allowing her to calculate the best way to not only beat a game but beat it with style. However, her vast intelligence is often that separates her form others. Which is why Sora has become the centre of her world. He is quite literally at times the only person who can understand her. What makes them most interesting is the unwavering faith she shows in his ability to understand her. Overall despite Shiro’s more quiet and perceivably timid nature. She is a force to be reckoned with when she puts her mind to it. Stephanie Dola (Dora) = she is very much the window for the viewer into the minds of Sora and Shiro. She acts as our representative in the world more so in the anime then the light novel, for obvious reasons. However, this doesn’t necessarily make Steph unintelligent. In fact, quite the opposite she is shown to have a keen and sharp intellect. Particularly shown by the light novels is the fact that Steph actually picks up many skills by observing the gamer siblings. Though these observations she has come to understand their nature even if I slight bit and though not often has come to show pride in the gamer siblings. Jibril = Jibril is a high ranking flugel, part of the council of wings these are the rulers of their race. Generally, she prefers combat but as the laws of the world changed she has turned to academics and knowledge of not only her own world but also recently of Sora and Shiro’s. having lost her god in the war it seems that she spent a lot of time looking and searching for a new ruler to follow. This search seems to from what is currently known to have led her to Imanitys domain. Where she came to be in possession of the library, she initially doesn’t really give any though to Sora and Shiro but by the time she finally sees them as a threat it is all but too late. Having seen their will and determination she becomes devout to Sora and Shiro seeing them her new good people she can truly follow despite their weakness of body they have a strength of mind and ambition that she finds irresistible. Together with them she will take them to the Heavens. Summary what we know? Sora and Shiro have a grand plan as stated from the very begging they plan to have the ultimate game most likely of chess against Tet (the god). However most interestingly they seem to want to do it within the laws of the world most spesfically law ten. ‘let us all have fun together’. What the future holds for them is unknown however I know we can’t wait to find out. No Game No Life (2014)
