Finally! Finally, I have completed the trophy that I was going for!
After many weeks of pain staking collecting gemstones, I finally got the trophy for Crystal Master. Many weeks of resetting the game, reloading, resetting and reloading to basically, force the gem to appear, but more of that when I finally get around to putting the Knack trophy guide up at some point. There was also the gain 50 combo points without taking a hit, which at times was very VERY frustrating, the amount of times that I managed to get to 47 and then get hit out of stupidity, causing me to rage. Anyway... Later days

It's getting to that time of year again where you spend all year collecting albums and then every band on the planet goes on tour for Metal October and November.
Last week was no different with Nervosa, Enforcer, Flotsam and Jetsam and Destruction. Great concert to be honest, all 4 bands were exceptionally good. Although band of the night for me, possibly Nervosa. All female Thrash band from Brazil, very, very good at what they do and it was a shame they didn't get more time. Coming up are, Obituary, Exodus, Prong, King Parrot, Grand Magus, Testament, Amon Amarth and the mighty Saxon, who are unfortunately playing on the same night as Annilihator, which sucks, but hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles at times. All these gigs are coupled with the excessive new backlog of albums to review, so it is all systems go here, keep posted, you can read the current gig reviews below: Nervosa chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/nervosa-06102016 Enforcer chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/enforcer-06102016 Flotsam and Jetsam chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/flotsam-and-jetsam-06102016 Gaming front, yes, i'm still playing Knack. I have finished the game twice now and I am currently hunting for Diamonds and Emeralds. My wife has been fantastic at this, she downloaded the Knack's Quest Candy Crush style game on her iOS and sends me gems daily to help. You're an absolute star. Such is the life of a trophy hunter. I did plan on getting the Trophy Guide up to Jack the Ripper, but I got distracted, I will do that later. Later Days Hey everyone, it's that time of day again where I sit down and chat shit. Actually, i'm just waiting for my control pad to get a charge and then back to it. Anyway, i'm so sorry, but I am not in the knack/naked but as the picture above suggests, i've been playing Knack. A game I wasn't particularly fussed about playing, but i've had a lot of fun with it, much better than I thought.
However, I am sat in the Chicken Lizard office on my own tonight, so heavy metal has been cranked up. I've got a large backlog of albums to get through again, but I am off to see the mighty Destruction on Thursday and they're suppoted by Flotsam and Jetsam, Enforcer and Nervosa, so I am actually really looking forward to it, although, I can see it being an expensive night in t-shirts! So, once the gig is out of the way, I shall crack on with the albums. I actually feel like the Metal reviews are starting to pick up some momentum now, which is cool and by cool I mean BLOODY AWESOME! HammerFall liked one of my tweets and retweeted with 'Get on this!' which made my day and not only do I like doing the reviewing, getting the feedback is always good. So, all in all, it'll be a quiet week I guess, everyone here at Chicken Lizard HQ (including myself) is settling back into Uni life, so it is very hectic here, but we're still beavering away behind the scenes. If you haven't already, follow us on Twitter @ZeChickenLizard and you'll get all our updates, what we're upto and it's the first place where you get updates about what is happening. Anyway, Later days yeah, it's been all quiet on the Western Front for me over the last few days. Where have I been, I hear you ask? Well, the answer is London, 1888 to be precise. No, I am not a time-traveller. I have been completely immersed into the DLC for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, of which, I will be reviewing very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
What else have I been doing in my hernia filled week? Well last night, I went to see a seminar by Professor Brian Cox, which was pretty cool, although, if i wanted to attend a lecture, i'd have gone into Uni that day. The main burning question of the night is, is there intelligent life beyond Earth? During the interval I asked the question on Twitter at #BrianCoxLive, is there any truth behind the 'Greys' theory, why do they only appeal to lunatics and why is it always anal probes? He didn't reply. This morning, tickets for Iron Maiden's UK tour have been purchased, not that I like their latest album, it's a tad poo, but not as bad as Dream Theater's latest and what is the crowning fly on the turd is that the American middle of the road, radio friendly rock ear botherer's Shinedown are supporting. Why do Maiden always have wank support bands? The mind boggles. Anyway, back to business... I may have been quiet on the blog front, but Chicken Lizard HQ has still been busy. I've got reviews for the latest releases by Beholder, Blaze Bayley and Death Angel up and I also did Ninja Gaiden for the Master System for Throwback Thursday, i'll post the links below so you can have a shufty. Beholder - Reflections chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/beholder-reflections Blaze Bayley - Infinite Entanglement chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/blaze-bayley-infinite-entanglement Death Angel - The Evil Divide chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/death-angel-the-evil-divide Ninja Gaiden chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/retro-lizard/ninja-gaiden On a much more poignant note, my other half leaves for Lisbon in Portugal tonight. She is going running in the event over there because she a) likes to run for fun b) is insane but, I am going to miss her this weekend, she has been a rock to me and I cannot express my gratitude towards her over her unwavering support for what we do here at Chicken Lizard, even if it means late nights and burning the candle at both ends. I've bought her an Eevee hat to take with her to Portugal, not that she'll need a hat in that heat! Anyway, i'll be about most of the day, so ask me anything on Twitter @ZeChickenLizard Later days Bad Blood is over! The campaign was a lot of fun, however, the side missions bored my tears to death, so much that they dried up and fucked off. I managed to get the rest of the trophies yesterday. the online co-op was a lot of fun, thank you to AngelDuck859 whoever you are for sticking with me throughout all 10 co-op missions, it was a lot of fun even though we exchanged no communication whatsoever! The most annoying trophy to attain on Bad Blood was the Negative Eugenics, it was very very difficult and frustrating at times to get the enemies grouped together enough for you to kill 4 at the same time and a lot of swearing was to be had. But more on that in the guide i'll be putting up What's next I hear you ask with bated breath? yeah yeah. I'm going to tidying up Assassin's Creed: Syndicate by doing the Jack the Ripper DLC, got it on offer from the PS Store for 6.99 booooom.
Also today, I managed to write some reviews. I got the review for the latest albums by Wisdom and Anthrax and I also got the review for Bad Blood up. I'll post the links below Anthrax chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/anthrax-for-all-kings Wisdom chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/wisdom-rise-of-the-wise Bad Blood: DLC chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/action-adventure/bad-blood-dlc Tomorrow is looking like reviews of the latest Candlemass EP and the latest Beholder album. So whilst I wait for Jack the Ripper to download, I may as well write the guide to Bad Blood Later Days So, i'm still in pain with this fucking hernia, especially after visiting the doctor whilst he molested and poked it saying does that hurt? YES! YES IT FUCKING HURTS YOU ARE LITERALLY SQUEEZING MY SMALL INTESTINE! all said through gritted teeth, obviously. But on another note, I managed to finish all the Street Sweeping missions on Bad Blood last night, what a repetitive way for Ubisoft to gain more hours out of some DLC. All 60 missions against the Militia, South Side Club and Fixers, 60 missions that can be 1 of 4 scenarios, even my tears were bored of falling. See below of the blood sweat and tears that went into this boring trophy hunting. On another side, I have to do 20 Co-Op missions with randomers tonight, Adam doesn't play well with others, it's why I avoid multiplayer like the plague. To Quote Super Hans from Peep Show... Back to Uni tomorrow, although i'm only in for an hour, score. Which means, I have lots of time to write the review for the latest Wisdom album, great Power Metal band from Hungary.
Today, I got the reviews up for the latest Thunderstone album up, good stuff from Finland and I also managed to get the review for the latest Amon Amarth album up too, so enjoy! Thunderstone chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/thunderstone-apocalypse-again Amon Amarth chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/amon-amarth-jomsviking Anyway, i'll catch you all later Later Days Hey everyone, it's been a bit quiet on the blog front for me over the past few days, I woke up Tuesday morning in agony, went to the doctors and discovered that I have a hernia. Lovely. Although the prescription painkillers aren't too bad! Also, i don't know why Mr. Lahey is in the picture above, but, whatever #TrailerParkBoysFTW So, yeah, i've been a bit pre-occupied with the pain. But, alas, i've been ploughing on regardless with the reviews. I managed to review Michael Jackson's Moonwalker on the Sega Master System, bit of a dodgy game in hindsight as you play as Michael searching for kids. The review of which you can read below: chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/retro-lizard/michael-jacksons-moonwalker Also, I got some reviews up of the latest albums by Sabaton, Prong, Sarke and Avantasia, which i'll post the links below, they're worth reading and definitely worth picking up Avantasia chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/avantasia-ghostlights Prong chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/prong-x-no-absolutes Sabaton chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/sabaton-the-last-stand Sarke chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/sarke-bogefod So, the plan for the rest of the day, is to obviously continue resting, this is a given or the wife will force me to rest! But, I plan to get the review for the latest Surgical Meth Machine featuring the one and only Al Jourgensen, fuck knows how he's still alive! and the new Abbath album \m/ Speaking of Al Jourgensen lookalikes; later on when i'm 'resting' I shall be going trophy hunting on Bad Blood, not so far to go now, 5 trophies and it is done and then it's time to move on. I shall leave you with the pictures of Al Jourgensen next to T-Bone from Bad Blood. Later Days
Woo! Have another picture of T-Bone, because T-Bone <3 and also because, I finished the story mode on Bad Blood last night and now thus begins the trophy hunting. This will require me to finally upgrade to PS Plus, which can literally suck my balls. Ooo yeah, free games, whatever, i've got a big enough backlog to get through anyway. The things I do to get a frigging trophy. Such is the life of a trophy hunter. So, what is it like on the Metal front?
Well, i'm awaiting a few more albums to review, however, I am still making my way through the backlog from the start of the year, mainly due to Chicken Lizard only being formed in late July, but hey, researching and listening takes time, you don't want a 200 word wishy washy review do you? But anyway, I've stuck up the review for Redemption - The Art of Loss and Resurrection Kings, both of which you can read below, because i'm that kind to you! Redemption - The Art of Loss chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/redemption-the-art-of-loss Resurrection Kings - Resurrection Kings chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/resurrection-kings-resurrection-kings So yeah, i'm going to spend the rest of the day trophy hunting on Bad Blood and listening to the latest release by Rotting Christ. Later days Today, was my first day back into Uni, which has finally brought some stability back into my week, other than being a totally pointless week.
But I am back home for the moment which means I am going to plough on with the WATCH_DOGS DLC, Bad Blood featuring Southern gentleman and Al Jourgensen lookalike T-Bone. I'm looking at finishing the story mode today and then on with the trophy hunting and the review. The music front is looking good, the band Metal Church liked my review of their album XI which had me absolutely buzzing and I still am to be honest! You can read this review below: http://chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone/metal-church-xi Next up on the reviewing pile is Redemption - The Art of Loss, which is a pretty cool album to be honest and in the post today came the latest albums by Twilight Force and Witherscape, so that gets added to the 'to do' list for the future. So once more, busy busy busy Later days A long morning of editing has been completed and we've got a big surprise on the website for you guys very shortly. So far, I have edited everything on the metal page so that you can now listen to a track by each band as you're reading the review. I'm also in the process of changing a few reviews to being objective rather than subjective, so yeah, stay tuned on that front guys. You can read the the reviews below: chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/the-metal-zone Also, the same principle goes for some of the earlier games I reviewed, each game now comes with a trailer for the game, so if you've never played it, you can at least get an idea what the game is like or about. You can read these reviews below: chickenlizardhq.weebly.com/game-reviews Obviously, I can't do this for a lot of the old retro games, but if you follow us on Twitter @ZeChickenLizard you can see the screenshots that I upload when I play the retro games every Throwback Thursday/Flashback Friday. This week, i'll be playing Michael Jackson's Moonwalker for the Master System. Well tomorrow is a big day for me, both me and Shiz are back at University, so uploads could be slow over the next few weeks whilst things settle down. However, I aim to get a Metal review up every day for the next month or so. Anyway, i'll be in the office most of the day, so as always, keep me company, send me a message, give us a like and enjoy our reviews. Later days |
